My Mom...she will be 69 in just over a month, she is a Grandma and a Great Grandma, she also suffers from Shojgrans Syndrome (an auto immune disease) that had her barely moving less then a year ago. Since starting Jiu Jitsu about 8 months ago, she has been feeling great, she struggled to just get through warm ups at first but, now I can't hold her back!
Last week while watching her during guard passing, I realized she actually knew what she was doing (she only trains on sat mornings so, progress is a little slower) this was such an awesome moment, I am so proud of her! After class she said "did you see me? I won 2 matches today, I think I finally get it" She finally even stopped calling "Shrimping" "Fishing"
This morning her hard work was rewarded with her 1st stripe, which I had the honor of applying! (she cried, it was so cute)
I strongly believe Jiu Jitsu is for everyone! You may have to set your own pace and limits but, if you let it in your life, it will surely change it for the better!
