an outstanding performance. He was a champion at motocross as a kid winning tons of 1st place trophies, when he decided to play football in Jr. High he was the star player from the 1st year he started and when he started Jiu Jitsu, he seemed to be a natural.
How-ever since receiving his Blue Belt, he had yet to take gold in a tournament even though he would always do great and put on
a good show, until yesterday....
Yesterday Tyson took double gold at the 4th Southwest
Classic in both his weight class and the Absolute! He fought 8 tough matches, finishing 4 by way of submission. His final match in the open had us all on pins and needles coming down to a refs decision ending in Tyson's favor!
I'm always proud of him but, throughout his life his athletic ability had always come naturally, his wins yesterday..... He earned!! He trained HARD and frequently, changed his out-of-the-gym lifestyle and the results paid off!
Tyson has also become a great instructor for Lotus Club/Siege MMA's kids program and prior to competing yesterday, he spent the morning coaching his kids who also did amazing btw!
Your awesome Tyson! And I'm sooooo proud of you! Keep up the good work! You have a huge future ahead of you! (and I'm not just saying that because I'm your Mom)
