Convenience always makes it easier to train!
I'm also excited to be in a much nicer neighborhood even though my house is pretty old. It does have lots of character though!
I'm getting closer and closer to the gym!! Last year I moved from 180th and Greenway to Reems and Grand. Yesterday I started moving into my new place in Youngtown (less then 10 minutes from Siege)

My baby cousin Mary got married this weekend out in Carlsbad CA. It was so much fun hanging out with my family. This was the 1st big event since my Aunt Sharon passed away so it definitely felt like something was missing :( We had a great time though and it was a beautiful wedding.
I got to spend some time with my cousins who I don't get to see very often now they we are all grown up and have families. I miss you guys a lot!! We need to spend time more often!! GREAT article on women in Jiu Jitsu! http://www.jiujitsusweep.com/articles/females-in-brazilian-jiu-jitsu/ http://www.fenomkimonos.com/
The one thing I have come to really love about Jiu Jitsu is the respect between competitors. Of-coarse there will always be a few that dont get along but, for the most part there is a mutual respect. The girls I've met during competition have all been awesome! It was nice to spend some time today with Lisa Pages! She and husband Jay came to help out with the in-house tournament at Siege. Jay was a ref and Lisa helped me with score keeping. It's always nice to hang out with some friends with the same interest! Thanks Lisa and Jay!
Today we had a Kids In-House Tournament at Siege. My son Seth (who NEVER trains) always wants to compete. (he suffers from JGS: Jason Gross Syndrom)Today I allow him to do this thinking he will loose terribly and realize he needs to train. He did place 4th (out of 4) but, he won his 1st match with a rear naked choke, lost his 2nd and 3rd by points, using strictly muscle in all 3 matches. He actually did really well! Wish I could get him interested in training! Proud of you Seth! And ALL of the kids who had the guts to get in there! Its not easy :)
It was great to get out with the girls last night! I tend to spend most of my time in yoga pants, sweats or a gi, so it was nice to get dressed up a little :)
We had a great time although we got caught in the middle of a monsoon and my head is telling me I might have drank a little too much!! Good times!! Balancing work, kids, dog, house, boyfriend and Jiu Jitsu!! Recently I lost my job at my gym :( I've been looking for a new job (back in the dental field) I've realized how much Jiu Jitsu consumes my life when I find myself applying for positions that correspond with my training schedule. I do realize that supporting my family has to come 1st but, for sanity purpose, Jiu Jitsu HAS to be squeezed in there some how. Anyone who trains BJJ should definitely be able to relate! For the past couple of weeks I've been feeling like I forgot how to do Jiu Jitsu. I feel like I'm making mistakes constantly in areas that I'm usually most comfortable, I've had this happen several times during my 1st year of training and also had times I could really see myself improving. Since receiving my Blue Belt, I haven't had a "valley" once, until now.... I was feeling upset about it, thinking I was past this and it wouldnt happen anymore but, I was told this would continue through-out my Jiu Jitsu career :( ugggh! I'm ready for the peak to come back! or even some flat ground! Looking for great supplements, without breaking the bank?
