When I started teaching the intro to BJJ class I was really excited to be able to share what I had learned with new students who were just starting out.  
I sometimes would feel surprised at how much I had retained in just a year but, as I went through the curriculum in each class,  I also realized how many little details I was missing or had just started skipping.  As I demonstrated each move,I learned how important these details were. 
After a few months of teaching I started seeing my own game noticeably  improve. I was learning so much by teaching and perfecting the basics. 
I've come to realize that there is no move or technique too easy or basic for anyone. And you can't practice the basics enough.  (Giva finishes almost every fight by armbar)
And while I'm learning, it feels great to see that even as a fresh Blue Belt I was able to teach and see my students progress and retain the knowledge I gave them.  
Looking back to when I started, some of my favorite teachers were not that far ahead of me.  Donnie and I used to meet every Friday morning and just roll and go over things for hours and Pam (who is a lower belt then me) is always showing me moves I love to use, Sean taught me the points system and coached me at several tournaments and I learn from Will in every class we teach together. And this just continues......
Moral of the story : your never too good to learn from ANYONE! Appreciate anyone who wants to share their knowledge or donate their time to help you out!

Since receiving my Blue Belt, I feel like I've been marked for death! 
I have a sign on my back that says "You are a Bad Ass if you can submit a 115 lb female!"
White Belts who used to "go easy" on me and "help" me, all the sudden are trying to smash me. Maybe to say "I submitted a Blue Belt"  a great accomplishment for a MAN who weighs more then 80lbs more then me.
Funny thing is, these same guys had much better technique when they were "going easy" ;)
 FYI guys....this doesn't help you or me. It will also limit your training partners, as we try to avoid people who are likely to injure us.
Take advantage of practicing your technique and trying new things when rolling with the girls.That way we all benefit.
While talking to one of my training partners (a guy, who weighs around 125lbs) I realized this isn't only an issue I face as a girl. The smaller guys experience this as-well.
So  take it easy big guys! Try not to break us. :)
