I'm no longer "Just a Girl" in a JIu Jitsu World!
Each open mat I attend, that becomes more and more apparent!
Yesterday Kaitlyn, Kadena and I made the long treck out to Tucson (about 2 hours from us) to attend an all female open mat. I have attended, and even held my own open mat, they are always fun and always a great experience. This particular open mat was attended by ALL white belts (35 in total) with 4 of us colored belts there to help out, so it was a very different experience. It was nice to be able to share my experiences with all of these excited, fresh faces! As always, the group was filled with young and old, all different walks of life but, all there because of the love of jiu jitsu!
Thank you so much to Brenda Soto, owner of Daimyo Jiu Jitsu (and fellow Purple Belt) for having us out! I made lots of new friends that I'm hoping to see again on the AZ Jiu Jitsu scene!
