Girls are really starting to populate the world of Jiu JItsu!!
The number of women who competed at the Worlds this year was 374. In 2010, there were only 176 ladies in the contest.
When I started training at Siege, there were only 2 girls (this included me) that trained on a regular basis. I have been teaching an all girls class every Friday and Sunday and we have been averaging about 12 girls per class. In addition to this we also now have several girls training regularly in our co-ed classes.
Its great to see so many girls taking an interest and I'm looking forward to having larger divisions when competing.
